The Maharashtra government launched the 5-level unlock strategy on Saturday. The latest SOPs provide that film and television shoots can restart in a bio-bubble with a maximum work duration of eight hours. The tentatively titled film Maharaja from Yash Raj Films will be the first to resume production following the lockout.
Maharaja is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and stars Aamir Khan's son Junaid. The film will be re-started today on sets built in Mumbai's Marol, according to the producers. Maharaja is said to be inspired by the Maharaj Libel Case. In 1862, the leader of a religious division sued a newspaper for publishing an expose of his sexual mistreatment of female worshippers. Junaid will play journalist Karsandas Mulji in the film. Shalini Pandey, Sharvari Wagh, and Jaideep Ahlawat, who played Arjun Reddy in the film, are also in it. The film had gone into production on February 15 of this year but had to be halted due to the pandemic's second wave.
